Mylynn Tufte specializes in population health management and health strategy with more than 25 years of experience in health care. She uses technology to improve health equity, social determinants of health, and care for vulnerable populations. Mylynn has helped organizations develop and implement innovative solutions that improve health care for diverse populations.
Prior to rejoining Optum, Mylynn served as the State Health Officer for North Dakota, where she led the state department of health during the COVID-19 public health emergency, established health policy, and developed and implemented strategic priorities. During her tenure, the Count the Kicks program was launched in North Dakota.
Mylynn earned a BSN from Case Western Reserve University, and an MBA and MSIM from Arizona State University. Mylynn has also been a national speaker and instructor on population health, health policy and leadership.
Mylynn lives in Kidder County North Dakota with her husband Jerod, and 3 living children Taggart, Elyse and Wyatt. Mayna, their first child was stillborn in 2004 at 40 weeks. Mylynn is passionate about making difference in the lives of others through the Count the Kicks program.
