“I started kick counting at 28 weeks, as per the guidance of my midwife. I am so grateful I found this app to help monitor my daughters movements. I would use Count the Kicks to monitor her movements every morning and night, and believe it led to the safe arrival of my daughter.
At 38 weeks, one week before my scheduled Cesarean section, I woke up and noticed that my baby hadn’t been as active as she usually was. I used the Count the Kicks app to check and noticed that not only had my frequency decreased, but also my intensity had been lowering over the past few days. This led me to go into the hospital for monitoring, it was really helpful to show them the app and how there was a definite decrease in movements.
I was placed on Cardiotocography (CTG) monitoring and they discovered I was in labor. I was booked in for an urgent cesarean section as my daughter was still breech. My beautiful daughter, Isla was born on Nov. 14, 2025.
After the C-section I found out that my amniotic fluid was pretty much all gone (my waters had been leaking without me realizing) and she pooed as they pulled her out. If I hadn’t been monitoring her movements I feel like things could have gone downhill quickly with my low fluid and Isla’s positioning in the womb.
I had anxiety during my pregnancy over a previous loss and found that tracking each day helped give me a concrete reassurance that everything was OK. It was really simple and easy to do each day and the reminders definitely helped keep me consistent. I am really grateful for the app and feel like it helped give me the confidence to go in for monitoring as I had visual proof of a change, so I wasn’t guessing myself. I will definitely use it again for any future pregnancies.
My advice for other parents is to not be scared of going into hospital and calling your provider if you are concerned about any movements. They don’t mind you coming in and would prefer that over anything potentially going wrong. Plus to check movements both morning and night, because things can change quickly and it’s also helpful to see a trend.” Kelsie D., Isla’s mom
