Back in 2005 I started my nursing career at UnityPoint Health Des Moines in Maternity Services where I worked as a Registered Nurse, Unit Based Educator, and Supervisor. It was here I learned about Count the Kicks and the impact this has on preventing stillbirths.

My passion for the health of pregnant persons and their babies has continued throughout my nursing career and led me to my current position as Director of Maternal/Child Services at Mary Greeley Medical Center. I am involved in the Association for Women’s Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses at both the state and national levels and advocate for improved outcomes for our patients.

Count the Kicks is one way we ensure staff have the resources to provide the best care, and education, for patients.
