I am a mother of four and a grandmother of nine. For more than 30 years, I have worked as an educator, doula, licensed massage therapist and trauma-informed support professional. A significant part of my work has involved walking alongside families who are navigating complex systems, including child welfare, housing instability, educational barriers and life transitions. I have witnessed firsthand how easily families can feel unheard or overlooked, and I have dedicated my career to ensuring that they experience dignity, empowerment and support instead.

I chose to become a Count the Kicks Ambassador because I believe strongly in the power of early awareness and prevention, especially for families who may not always have consistent access to positive healthcare experiences. Healthy Birth Day’s mission aligns with my commitment to bridging gaps, strengthening communication between families and providers, and making sure parents receive clear, evidence-based tools that can help protect their babies.

In my community, I help lead maternal wellness and family-support initiatives, including hosting an annual Community Baby Shower, which connects expecting and new parents with essential resources and a sense of celebration and belonging. Through my doula work, postpartum support, manual lymphatic drainage services and advocacy for system-involved families, I strive to create safe, nurturing spaces for people during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of their lives.

As a Count the Kicks Ambassador, I am honored to use both my professional experience and my lived experience to help ensure that all families — including those who face systemic barriers — feel seen, supported and empowered throughout their pregnancy journey.
