I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in HR from William Penn University in 2013. My goal was to obtain a corporate job and climb the ladder of success reaching a six-figure income.

However, that goal changed in 2014, when my son Octavian was stillborn at 21 weeks gestation. I was fortunate to find a faith-based ministry called Mommies with Hope who offered biblical support and resources that helped me navigate my grief. As I healed a desire to help other moms in the same situation grew.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t my time – life circumstances kept me on other paths. In 2015 we welcomed our son, Luke Zion, who is now 9 years old. He was diagnosed with Down syndrome and struggled with constant health issues, which kept me from focusing on anything else.

I was fortunate to find an employer who not only embraced my family situation, but also gave me the opportunity to work in an industry that filled my cup as I helped others navigate the workforce. Although I love helping others navigate the workforce and have many success stories, it became difficult to maintain a life and work balance, and after six years in the staffing industry it was time for a change.

I joined Healthy Birth Day, Inc. (HBD) in January 2025 as the Office Assistant. It is an exciting opportunity to help others navigate uncharted waters, to educate, and raise awareness for expecting moms. Not only will I be able to give back personal experience, knowledge, and kindness to the community that I have received in so many circumstances. I pray that the work done at HBD gives expecting moms hope, support, and resources to navigate any outcome. This opportunity is also providing a manageable life and work balance, allowing me to spend time with my family. In addition to our son Luke, we also have Cesar who is 24, as well as a nearly 6-year-old granddaughter and a nearly 1-year-old grandson.
