Hello! My name is Molly, and I am a mom to three beautiful girls Aoife, Evelyn, and Lucille, and we live in Baltimore, Maryland. My life turned upside down when Aoife, my first, was born still at 34 weeks in October 2013. Having a healthy pregnancy with no complications, losing Aoife was a great shock. Her autopsy results were inconclusive, adding to the anguish of not having a diagnosis or reason for her death. In retrospect, I did feel her movements decrease in her final weeks along with sudden bursts of movement. I wish I had been educated properly to understand how tracking and monitoring movement can help identify risk factors.

I may not be able to take Aoife to dance classes or soccer games, but she remains part of our daily life. Our family honors her each year with a day of kindness, and I show up as her mom through various volunteer engagements and advocacy work. I hope to leverage my public health, process improvement, and change management experience to help prevent stillbirth as a Maryland Ambassador for Healthy Birth Day, Inc.

I look forward to working with families, professionals, and providers to help standardize communication and improve access to information through the evidence-based prevention of Count the Kicks
