Hello, I am Robyn Wilks and I am the mother of two children, Nana to five grandchildren and reside in St. Louis, Missouri. As a “Loss Mom” of my Son Brandyn, I know firsthand every feeling and emotion that comes with the transition of a child and what comes next as a grieving parent. The grief is a lifelong journey woven into the fabric of the “New Me,” the person I became the day my child transitioned.
It is important to me that I do all I can to help prevent the birthing individuals I support as well as the birthing community from experiencing such a devastating loss. Therefore, it is imperative I continue to fight against and address the significant racial disparities in the Black communities that still exist today and in decreasing the maternal mortality rates of black individuals in my state.
As the Founder and Owner of Relevate Wellness, I have been delivering exceptional holistic care for over 10 years as a Licensed and Certified Professional Massage Therapist, Certified Medical Massage Practitioner and Certified Reiki Master/Teacher. As a Certified Full Spectrum Doula (from preconception through end-of-life), my goal is to ensure that my clients are fully educated, heard, respected, honored, and supported throughout their pregnancy and birthing journey to bring their babies earth-side safely and live to enjoy them. The same goal applies to my clients receiving other respective areas of support services. Empowering women to embrace the full experience of childbirth and motherhood; and creating and providing a safe space for natural restorative healing of body, mind and spirit brings me great joy.
In addition to being a Certified Advocate for Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL), Fertility, Reproduction Health & The Black Experience and Herbal. I also hold a Trainer Certification to teach Pregnancy & Infant Loss (PAIL Advocate) and Fertility Advocate courses to individuals seeking to obtain certification to support families in need of such services.
I possess over 35 combined years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, Government Affairs, and Regulatory Compliance in both Healthcare and Private Sector settings. I am an advocate for women’s health focused on Fundamentally Reconstructing, Reimagining and Redesigning the infrastructure of Maternal Health, Respect for Black Birthing People, Promote Healthy Pregnancies and Foster Positive Childbirth Experiences.
As a Count the Kicks Ambassador in the St. Louis region of Missouri, I will be able to provide additional tools to birthing families that would help them gain clarity when it comes to a healthy pregnancy as I continue to raise awareness, and educate my clients and individuals in the healthcare and birthing spaces on how to use the Count the Kicks App, as well as the importance and benefits of its use. I will also provide valuable evidence-based resources and tools needed for safe/positive birth outcomes while striving to help mitigate negative birth outcomes that would increase the maternal mortality rate.
I believe (as written by Annie D. Allan) “When you discover your passion, you light up your heart; When you live it, you light up the world!”
