I started my obstetric nursing career in 1999 at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines in Maternity Services where I worked as a Registered Nurse, Unit Based Educator, and Clinical Education Specialist. It was in my roles there that I learned about the vision and message of Count the Kicks and wanted to help them to save babies at a much greater scale.

This led me to help connect them to work with others throughout the health system and to integrate in their products and teaching into day-to-day patient care.  I also had the opportunity in in my volunteer role as secretary/ treasurer for Iowa Association for Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to help engage them at a larger scale to get the message to an even greater audience of health care professionals, impacting even more.

My passion for the health of women, pregnant and postpartum people, and their newborns has continued throughout my professional nursing career.

Count the Kicks is such an amazing campaign with many great tools and resources, has been an honor to collaborate to help share their mission and vision.
