I was inspired by the other stories on your site to share mine as well in hopes that it will help promote your message.

At 37 weeks, I woke up early in the morning with a sensation that something was “off,” but I didn’t know what to attribute it to.

Over the course of that afternoon, I noted a reduction in fetal movement and went into my hospital’s OB triage to be checked out as I had received materials from my OB on the importance of kick counts.

My son’s heart rate was normal but an ultrasound revealed he was no longer moving.

He was delivered by c-section right away, during which he was found to be pale and unresponsive.

He had a severe fetomaternal hemorrhage and had lost almost his entire blood volume. He spent three weeks in the NICU and is now thriving, happy and healthy at home.

When I noticed the decrease in movement, I had considered staying at home and waiting a while to see if things would improve.

I was told that had I decided to wait, he would not have made it through the night.

I would encourage every woman to seek help right away if you feel like something is wrong as it really can save your child’s life.
