Meet Amrielle
- Baby Saves
“My journey through pregnancy was filled with excitement, but also anxiety because I had experienced an emergency cesarean section with my first daughter. During my second pregnancy, my doctors recommended using Count the Kicks and it became an important tool for me.
My baby was really active all throughout my pregnancy. The app helped me keep track of my baby’s usual movement patterns and recognize when something changed.
At 38 weeks I noticed that my baby wasn’t moving like she normally did. The app helped me recognize that something wasn’t right. It made me take the change seriously and understand the importance of speaking up for my baby, so I went in to get checked.
After being put on a monitor, my doctors decided it was best to deliver her via cesarean section. With the decrease in her movement, my past experience and being as far along as I was, they decided it was best to deliver now rather than wait until it was too late. They never really could pinpoint why she became inactive, but they said it could have been bad if we didn’t.
Knowing that her movement patterns had changed made me even more aware of how important it is for moms to trust their instincts and advocate for their babies. Count the Kicks helped me pay closer attention to those changes, and I’m grateful I had a tool that encouraged me to take them seriously. Every mom deserves to feel confident speaking up when something doesn’t feel right, because our babies depend on us to be their voices.
My beautiful daughter, Amrielle, was born weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces. Having her here safely means everything to me.
I hope sharing my story encourages other moms to use Count the Kicks, learn their babies’ normal movement patterns and never ignore a change. I’m thankful I paid attention to my daughter’s movements and had a way to recognize when they weren’t the same as before. You know your baby better than anyone, and speaking up can make a difference.” -Diamond M., Amrielle’s mom
