We have laser vision for the future: To save 7,500 babies every year in the U.S.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we lose approximately 23,500 babies to stillbirth every year in America. Statistically, that means 1 out of every 169 pregnancies ends in stillbirth.
In the first 10 years of our campaign in Iowa, the state’s stillbirth rate decreased nearly 32%. We want to achieve the same success in all 50 states, which would save 7,500 babies every year.
Our mission to save more babies is urgent, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact care and birth outcomes for expectant parents around the U.S. With changes to prenatal appointment schedules, a shift to telehealth appointments, and increased fear of going to the hospital because of COVID, we know it’s more important than ever for expectant parents to know the normal movement pattern for their baby.
Can you imagine a world where we are losing 7,500 fewer babies each year? We can, and it’s because of people like you.
YOU can be a part of our mission to make kick counting a common practice by telling others about Count the Kicks and asking expectant parents to download our free kick counting app in the third trimester of pregnancy.
