My name is Tia Alcala and I am The Doula Goddess. I reside on Long Island in New York with my three sons. I am a former Certified Nursing Assistant turned Doula. For more than three years, I have studied womb wellness and health to help assist women on their birthing journey as well as their healing journey.
I am not only a doula, but also a Certified Yoni Steam Practitioner and Womb Stimulation Specialist with hands-on training and knowledge to help assist women through the healing of their sacred space, the womb. In addition, I am a PAIL (Pregnancy and Infant Loss) Advocate where I help assist families during the grieving process of loss as well.
In 2016, I had a high-risk pregnancy, and I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I had to see a specialist to monitor my baby. At one of my appointments, I was told I needed to keep track of the baby’s movements and to write it down. How wonderful would it have been to know about Count the Kicks and have access to an app that would document and track the movements without me having to remember. After all, most everyone has access to a cell phone and what a convenience it would have been.
As a doula and member of the birth work community it is my mission to let as many birthing families as possible, hospitals, doctors, etc. know about Count the Kicks and the importance of being able to track your babies’ movements to indicate if there is a possible problem during pregnancy. I look forward to working with Count the Kicks to help save as many babies as possible worldwide!
